Friday 1/27

Artaria String Quartet: Tian, Mendelssohn, Bartok – Join the Cappella Performing Arts Center for their first show of the year on January 27, featuring Minnesota’s foremost teaching and performing string quartet, Artaria String Quartet. From 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm, audience members can expect refined and thoughtful playing and confident interpretations from an exceptional ensemble.
Hairball Rocks La Crosse, WI! – Purchase your tickets soon for a Rock & Roll experience you won’t soon forget with Hairball at the La Crosse Center. Starting on Friday night at 7:30 pm, audience members can see two hours of an unbelievably accurate homage to some of the biggest arena acts in the world.

Saturday 1/28

Ray On My Mind: Tribute to Ray Charles – Come and see the music and the story of the great Ray Charles brought to life in Ray On My Mind: Tribute to Ray Charles at the Viterbo Fine Arts Center. Tickets are on sale now, and the show starts Saturday night at 7:30 pm.
Midwest Voltage, ZAMMEK, Justin Urness, Be Wary at Popcorn Tavern – Support local music at the Popcorn Tavern this Saturday night. There will be a mix of punk, rock, electronic, and alternative live music from the bands Midwest Voltage, ZAMMEK, Justin Urness, and Be Wary. The music starts at 10:00 pm, the show is 21+ and there is a $5 cover charge.
Mike Munson at The Root Note – The Root Note is holding another great show, this time featuring popular country blues musician, Mike Munson. There will also be an art auction in support of the Two Chickadees Project. The show is free for all and starts at 8:00 pm.

Sunday 1/29

Deece Productions Presents an Acoustical tribute to Merle Haggard – Head to Leo and Leona’s on Sunday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm to see Greg Hall and Dan Sebranek perform an acoustical tribute to Merle Haggard. The show is presented by Deece Productions and the tickets are $10 at the door only on a first come first serve basis.

Thursday 2/2

Andy’s Alpine Jam – Join your host Andy Hughes at the Alpine Inn every Thursday night in January for Andy’s Alpine Jam presented by Broken Wrist Records. The event will run from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and local musicians are welcome to join this Nashville style open mic. If you’re not interested in getting up on stage, come for the drinks, food, and entertainment!
Author Talk: Scott Blanke – Stop down to Pearl Street Books for a book discussion and signing with author Scott B. Blanke. The author will be discussing his prequel to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz novel, Oscar Diggs, The Wizard of Oz. The event starts at 6:30 pm on Thursday night.

Coming Up (2/3 – 2/9)

Current Pump House Regional Arts Center Exhibition – Join the Pump House Regional Arts Center in supporting their currently featured exhibition, which will be on display from January 11- February 25, 2023. The exhibition features the works of Lynda Wallis in Trust Yourself to Feel Exactly What You’re Feeling, Jean Weiner in Dance of Light, and K. Daphnae Koop in Elevating the Ordinary. The Artist Reception is on February 3, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 pm.
2023 La Crosse Winter Roots Festival – La Crosse Winter Roots Festival is an invitation to celebrate local and regional music, cuisine, artists, makers, brewers, and distillers from the greater La Crosse, Wisconsin. Taking place Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 12:00 pm, this event will be held at the Riverside Ballroom at the La Crosse Center.
Ariane Lydon & Friends ‘In The Spirit of Love’ Concert – The Pump House Regional Arts Center presents Ariane Lydon and Friends on Saturday, February 11 at 7:30 pm. The show will feature their ‘In the Spirit of Love’ concert. The show will be an experience, as Lydon fluently delivers songs in 3 languages along with music featuring guitars, keyboard, harp, and percussion.

First Friday Downtown Art Walk – Held at various locations in downtown La Crosse on the first Friday of every month, come down for the first First Friday Downtown Art Walk on February 3! Artists, exhibitions, and new collections can be found at River City Gallery, Pump House Regional Art Center, and others from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. 24th Annual “Masquerade” Winter Ball – Don’t miss Pearl Street Brewery’s 24th Annual Masquerade Winter Ball on Saturday, February 18th! The festivities run from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and include special releases of new, one-off beers, wine spritzers, sparkling wines, and hard cider mixers along with a lineup of award-winning Pearl Street Brewery beers. Food will be available for purchase and Porky’s Groove Machine, Nicholas David and Mark Joseph & The American Soul will be providing live entertainment.
Nobody’s Dope Live at Alpine Inn – Start your Friday night off at Alpine Inn on February 3 from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm with Nobody’s Dope. The show is presented by Broken Wrist Records and features Guess Pre (Gregory Stanton), Andy Hughes, and Brian Bethke.
