La Crosse Local

For residents and visitors in the La Crosse area!

La Crosse Local was founded in 2020 by River Travel Media as an arts, food, and entertainment podcast and website for La Crosse County and its surrounding communities. In early 2024, La Crosse Local changed gears! Since its relaunch in May 2024, La Crosse Local continues to bring the La Crosse region news of arts, food, and entertainment. Additionally, La Crosse Local has expanded its effort to locally-focused resources and guides: parenting, parks, camps, schools, business news, local activities, events round-ups, and more. La Crosse Local is your go-to resource for all things La Crosse!

Emma Lonergan | Owner

Hi, I’m Emma! I moved to La Crosse over a decade ago for college, attending both UWL and Viterbo University, and quickly fell in love with the area for its beautiful scenery and vibrant community. I met my partner here, and after getting married, we spent a few years traveling around the country, exploring everything from mountains to beaches and discovering new cities and cultures along the way. Eventually, being Midwesty at heart, we returned to La Crosse to raise our family. Together we love spending time in nature, exploring local foodie spots, and attending community events.

In the summer of 2025, I became the owner of La Crosse Local – continuing the mission to foster connection, share events and local happenings, and help build stronger, more inclusive communities. My goal is to provide residents and visitors with the resources and knowledge they need to navigate the area with confidence, ease, and a sense of adventure. I enjoy diving into all the amazing aspects La Crosse has to offer and love sharing them with you – because living local is about more than just a place, it’s about community, connection, and discovery.

Cheers to living local!
