Midwest CMO Fall Tour presented by Corona – Join musicians Monica Austin, Luke Hendrickson, and Gregg Hall & The Wrecking Ball at The Main for the first ever Midwest Country Music Organization Fall Tour presented by Corona. The tour stretches for 3 nights at 3 top notch venues across 3 states, but this is the only Wisconsin stop on the tour. The music starts at 7 pm and features three amazing full bands that have 6 Midwest CMO nominations between them. There is a $10 cover charge that will go to support the local artists directly. Come down for a night of fun and great local music!

All Weekend

Murder on the Orient Express – Come down for a showing of Murder on the Orient Express at the Toland Theatre on campus by the UWL Department of Theatre and Dance. There will be performances all weekend with the show starting at 7:30 pm on the 20th through the 22nd, and 2:00 pm on the 23rd. This classic theatrical show follows the Orient Express, stuck on the tracks by a snowstorm, and the shocking revelation that there has been a murder on the train. Come along for the ride as train passenger Detective Hercule Poirot attempts to unmask the murderer and solve the mystery of “who done it.” Get your tickets now!
Events at the Cavalier Theater – Stop by the Cavalier Theater on Thursday or Friday for two fun end of the week events! On Thursday check out The La Crosse Gurls Drag Queen Happy Hour at 7:00 pm to enjoy a few thirsty Thursday drinks and drag performances by a rotating cast of regional queens with an open stage for newcomers. Then on Friday you can stop in to see country singer Ward Davis at 8:00 pm for some live literary neo-outlaw country music.

Friday

Live Music at The Warehouse – Start your Friday night off with some live music at the Warehouse. You can catch a four band showcase for only a $10 cover charge starting at 6:30 pm and running until 10 pm. The showcase will feature GRIMROSE (La Crosse based hip hop punk), plus JUICENECK (Western Wisconsin rock/funk), with CANDY SWEET (making their Warehouse debut), RAY GUN YOUTH (alt rock from Minneapolis).

Saturday

Eric Bachmann Undertow Shows – See Eric Bachmann live in La Crosse on October 22nd, as he plays an intimate living room show with the help of Undertow Show starting at 8 pm. Undertow Shows are intimate events hosted by fans in private spaces. Each show is unique and held at a secret location hinted at with the area zip code, with the true address revealed when you buy your ticket. Eric Bachmann is an American multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer. You may know him as the frontman of Archers of Loaf and Crooked Fingers. Bachmann’s music is distinctive for its creative and innovative arrangements, and it is sure to be an epic show for all.
Beer By Bike Brigade Halloween Ride – Hop on your bike and head out with the Beer by Bike Brigade Saturday afternoon for their Halloween Ride. The ride will have three stops, the Meet and Greet at 3 pm, Java Vino at 4:15p pm, and Bluffside Tavern at 5:45 pm. There will be free tacos by Taco Town and free margaritas (and virgin margaritas) from the Beer by Bike Brigade. Be sure to get a free door prize ticket and enjoy a fun collection of free goodies throughout the ride.

Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – Presented from October 7th to October 23rd, come down and see the La Crosse Community Theatre’s rendition of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: The New Musical based on the 1964 novel by Roald Dahl. This performance is perfect for families and kids of all ages, but it will be a treat for anyone who goes to see it. Featuring an original score, the musical will be new to all, even those who have watched the movies based on the same novel. But you may recognize some songs from the 1971 movie like “Candy Man,” “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket,” and “Pure Imagination.”

Coming Up

Phantom Of The Opera (1925 Silent Film) Featuring: The Mighty Moller Organ – Presented by the Cappella Performing Arts Center, come and see the Phantom Of The Opera, the 1925 silent horror film on October 31st at 7:00pm. The film will be accompanied by the Mighty Moller Cappella organ played by Peter Krasinski. A film adaptation of Gaston Leroux’s 1910 novel Le Fantôme de l’Opéra, The Phantom Opera stars the Phantom played by Lou Chaney who haunts the Paris Opera House in an attempt to make the woman he loves a star.
Pearl Street Brewery Tours – Take a tour of Pearl Street Brewery! Tours are offered on the first Saturday of every month, plus for groups of up to 20 people by appointment. Located in the old industrial Rubber Mills in La Crosse, you can learn all about the history of the brewery and the beer, while enjoying a pint of your favorite beer or trying something new or seasonal. The tour includes a souvenir PSB pint glass, one free fill, a BOGO voucher for participating bars & restaurants, and the tour.
The La Crosse Chamber Chorale Presents Come to the Woods – Join the La Crosse Chamber Chorale for their fall performance of their 2022-2023 season, Awake My Soul. The fall performance is called Come to the Woods and will feature both old and new music that reflects the beauty and serenity of nature. The La Crosse Chamber Chorale is a volunteer, community-based choir that was founded in 1986, and the choir singers, staff and board of directors are committed to bringing professional and creative programming to the region. The fall performance will have two performance dates, Saturday, November 5th at 7:30 pm and Sunday, November 6th at 3:00 pm.
2023 La Crosse Winter Roots Festival – The La Crosse Winter Roots Festival is back this February at the La Crosse Center! The festival will take place next year on Saturday, February 11th. In continuation with the festivities from last year’s festival, locals and visitors alike are invited to celebrate favorites from Wisconsin, including music, cuisine, local beer and spirits. There will be regional musical favorites covering a variety of genres, a makers market, lots of delicious food and drinks, great community, and much more to come as the date draws closer. In addition, the festival will again be donating a portion of the proceeds to The Hunger Task Force of La Crosse, who will also be hosting a variety of fundraising activities during the event. Broken Wrist Records October Showcase! – Make a short road trip to Eau Claire this Thursday night for Broken Wrist Records October Showcase at The Red Mixer. Get yourself into the Halloween spirit with this special BWR Showcase featuring Guess Pre, Brian Bethke Music, and Andy Hughes. There will be live music, as well as new music coming out from Broken Wrist Records this year. Head there on Thursday at 7 pm for an excellent show and a sneak peek at some new music.
