Mitzi’s Abortion: A Saint’s Guide to Late Term Politics and Medicine in America – An original story by Elizabeth Heffron, come see the Grey Area Productions performance of Mitzi’s Abortion at the Pump House Regional Arts Center. The generous and compassionate comedy show explores the questions that have shaped the national debate over abortion while using humor, intelligence, honesty, and storytelling to address serious themes. It follows the story of a young woman “trying to make an intensely personal decision in a system determined to make it a political one,” and guides the audience in understanding that some decisions are complicated when they become ours to make. There are shows on October 28th and 29th at 7:30 pm, and tickets are available for purchase online.

Rocky Horror Show LIVE! at the Cavalier Theater – What better way to celebrate Halloween in a spooky fashion than with the campy cult classic, Rocky Horror Show? Come down to the Cavalier Theater on Friday, October 28th to see this spooky season favorite LIVE! The Muse Theatre will be performing this Halloween staple at 7:30 pm, with the doors opening at 6:30 pm. Audience members are encouraged to wear a costume, and there will be prizes for the best costume, as well as time warp dancing in the mosh pit. Tickets are 25 dollars and all ages are welcome to attend.
Warehouse’s Annual Halloween Party – Start your Halloween weekend off at the Warehouse with live music on Friday night for their annual Halloween party! The show will feature groove metal band WOR all the way from North Carolina on their American Invasion Tour, as well as Wisconsin’s SQUIDHAMMER and THUNDERGOAT. The party starts at 6:30 pm and goes until 10:00 pm.

Saturday

Platinum Edition and Diamond Edition: Movin’ to Musicals – See a show this weekend at the Conservatory for the Performing Arts by Viterbo university’s show choirs, Platinum Edition and Diamond Edition! They will be performing various numbers from beloved popular musicals ranging from comedy to drama. Tickets are on sale online and the show starts at 7:30 pm on Saturday night.
Monster Mash featuring K SLATT at The Main – Come down to The Main for Monster Mash, a Halloween weekend event featuring live Hip-Hop by K SLATT and an epic costume party. Be sure to wear your best costume to the party for a fun Halloween bash starting at 7 pm and ending at 11 pm. Other performers include 3MAN24K, NFTF STEFON, T TUNES, TWAN, and DJ GINJA.
Halloween Party with War Pigs! – Join the folks at Fork and Fable Crafthouse for an evening of great beer and Halloween fun! Mark Harrison from War Pigs & 3 Floyd’s and Blaine and Abbie from General Beverage will be there with some excellent beer options to try including A Light in the Black Pilsner, Anniversary Smoked Lager, Foggy Geezer, and Lazurite. There will also be a fun Halloween costume contest with a $50 Fork and Fable gift card for the winner!
“Beatles Tribute” – Dan Sebranek, Hans Mayer & The Jupes – Stop into Leo and Leona’s this Saturday night for a Beatles Tribute performance! Dan Sebranek and Hans Mayer & The Jupes will take you through the Beatles’ extraordinary discography with so many incredible songs for a fantastic show you do not want to miss! There is a $20 cover charge and the show starts at 7:30 pm.

Phantom Of The Opera (1925 Silent Film) Featuring: The Mighty Moller Organ – Presented by the Cappella Performing Arts Center, come and see the Phantom Of The Opera, the 1925 silent horror film on October 31st at 7:00pm. The film will be accompanied by the Mighty Moller Cappella organ played by Peter Krasinski. A film adaptation of Gaston Leroux’s 1910 novel Le Fantôme de l’Opéra, The Phantom Opera stars the Phantom played by Lou Chaney who haunts the Paris Opera House in an attempt to make the woman he loves a star.

Coming Up

La Crosse Community Theatre 2022 Holiday Ball – Join the La Crosse Community Theatre at their 2022 Holiday Ball on November 4th at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts in downtown La Crosse. The Holiday Ball is a fundraising event for LCT as a cultural staple of the Coulee Region as they look forward to celebrating their 60th year anniversary. The event will include a cocktail hour starting at 5 pm, a silent auction, and an exclusive raffle prize package for one lucky winner who will receive tickets to Irishfest, Summerfest and a Green Bay Packers game, among other prizes. Additionally, there will be sneak preview performances from upcoming productions of “Scrooge in Rouge ” and “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast,” with the opportunity to purchase single tickets to all of the shows in the season before they go on sale to the public.
The Last Train to Nibroc – Come to the upcoming opening weekend of the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse Department of Theatre Arts’ presentation of the Last Train to Nibroc at the Frederick Theatre. This simple, honest, and genuine play follows the story of two young people, May and Raleigh, who meet on a train at the beginning of World War II. Last Train to Nibroc is a funny and tender tale of two people searching for happiness during the uncertain times of war, and is sure to be a touching and enjoyable performance for all. There will be shows at 7:30 pm on November 3-5th, and a Sunday matinee showing on November 6th at 2:00 pm. You can purchase your tickets ahead of time online, or in person/on the phone from the box office.
The La Crosse Chamber Chorale Presents Come to the Woods – Join the La Crosse Chamber Chorale for their fall performance of their 2022-2023 season, Awake My Soul. The fall performance is called Come to the Woods and will feature both old and new music that reflects the beauty and serenity of nature. The La Crosse Chamber Chorale is a volunteer, community-based choir that was founded in 1986, and the choir singers, staff and board of directors are committed to bringing professional and creative programming to the region. The fall performance will have two performance dates, Saturday, November 5th at 7:30 pm and Sunday, November 6th at 3:00 pm.
2023 La Crosse Winter Roots Festival – The La Crosse Winter Roots Festival is back this February at the La Crosse Center! The festival will take place next year on Saturday, February 11th. In continuation with the festivities from last year’s festival, locals and visitors alike are invited to celebrate favorites from Wisconsin, including music, cuisine, local beer and spirits. There will be regional musical favorites covering a variety of genres, a makers market, lots of delicious food and drinks, great community, and much more to come as the date draws closer. In addition, the festival will again be donating a portion of the proceeds to The Hunger Task Force of La Crosse, who will also be hosting a variety of fundraising activities during the event.
