Trapper Schoepp In Concert at the Pump House – Come and view Milwaukee based American singer and songwriter, Trapper Schoepp, perform his new album May Day at the Pump House Regional Arts Center on November 12th. A celebration of more hopeful times and a reflection on a darker past, May Day explores themes of ghosts and rebirth, springtime, and renewal. Listen to Trapper Schoepp talk about his latest album and more on the La Crosse Local Podcast before heading to the show, and purchase your tickets online or at the Pump House, for a night of music from a great regional musician. Plus look forward to the next live musician in the Pump House Concert Series, Geneviève Racette performing on November 22.

Holiday Pop-up Shops at The Charmant – Join the folks at The Charmant on Saturday, November 12th and Sunday, November 13th for a two-day Holiday Pop-Up Shop Event. Shop locally this holiday season and check out a variety of artisans and vendors from around the local Coulee and neighboring regions. The Pop-Up Shop runs from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday and Sunday, and offers the perfect opportunity to check off some names on your holiday list. There will be home goods, clothing, accessories, and much more to find the perfect gifts for this holiday season!

Friday

Larson’s Holiday Market – Get in the holiday spirit with Larson’s General and Driftless Skincare’s Holiday Market on Friday, November 11th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Some great vendors selling holiday treats and gifts will be gathered at the store, making it a great place to shop for the upcoming holiday season. Some popular vendors include Sugar Mama, Wisco Well & Goods, Hunt & Gather Grazing Boards, and Merfolk by Katie Lawver.

Artaria String Quartet at the Cappella Performing Arts Center – Join the Cappella Performing Arts Center in welcoming Minnesota’s foremost teaching and performing string quartet, Artaria String Quartet, for the second time this fall. From 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm, audience members can expect refined and thoughtful playing and confident interpretations from an exceptional ensemble. They will be performing W.A. Mozart: “Dissonance” Quartet, Elizabeth Maconchy: Quartet No. 3, and Benjamin Britten: Quartet No. 1.

Flibbertijibbet LIVE at Alpine! – Head up the bluff to Alpine Inn on Friday to catch local favorite Flibbertjibbet at 7:00 pm. This local band features an electric mix of original Rock, Americana, Jam, and Folk music all in one. The show is a great way to kick off your Friday night and is sure to be an entertaining evening. There will be no cover charge for the live performance, but you can enjoy drinks and food at the bar.

Saturday

Fall Seasonal Saturday at Minnesota Marine Art Museum – Make the trip to the Minnesota Marine Art Museum on Saturday, November 12th for their Fall Seasonal Saturday event based on the theme, “Paint the Rainbow: A Celebration of Color” inspired by the MMAM exhibition, Water Stories: New Work by Anne Labovitz. Featuring $1 admission, the event will showcase special themed activities all day long. An artist demonstration with Anne Labovitz, live music by Jim Reinke and Irish trio Dublin’s Daughter, storytelling sessions, a variety of tours, and a range of kids activities await those who visit.

Rock the Red Kettle! – Join the Salvation Army of La Crosse in kicking off their Red Kettle Season with the first Rock the Red Kettle concert at the La Crosse Center this Saturday night. The concert will showcase some local favorites including Glass Stiletto, Dan and Mary, and TUGG. Concert goers will help raise proceeds to support the programs and services to serve the La Crosse community, and the show kicks off at 7 pm. Get your tickets now!

Sunday

Nadine Landry & Stephen “Sammy” Lind w/ Josh Rabie & Russell Pedersen – Looking for somewhere to hang out this Sunday evening? Stop down to The Root Note in downtown La Crosse for live local music and great food and drinks. Starting at 5 pm, come see local and regional favorites Nadine Landry and Stephen “Sammy” Ling from Foghorn Stringband, as well as Josh Rabie from Echo Black River and Russell Pedersen from Horseshoes and Hand Grenades. These local musicians will be playing Old-Time, Bluegrass, and Cajun music, and it is sure to be an entertaining and relaxing atmosphere for Sunday dinner or an evening of drinks with friends.

Coming Up

La Crosse Rotary Lights – Participate in a tried and true La Crosse holiday tradition, head to Rotary Lights this November and December at Riverside Park! With nearly 160,000 visitors each year, driving, walking or taking a carriage ride through Riverside Park is a popular way to celebrate the holiday season. Along with the opening parade and ceremony, there will be events throughout the holiday season. Santa and a couple of his reindeer will be in the park every evening through December 23rd, plus there will be a Live Nativity, free s’mores at the fire pits, and an ice rink and free skate rental. There will also be an All Abilities Night on November 28th where the lights and music will be adjusted to accommodate all individuals. Add this La Crosse tradition to your holiday bucket list for this year!

La Crosse Center Holiday Fair – The La Crosse area’s most spectacular holiday craft show returns November 17th through the 20th at the La Crosse Center. The Holiday Fair is a La Crosse tradition every year and an event for all ages. A large number of craft vendors and vendor booths are set up to shop for holiday gifts. Plus the kids will enjoy photographs with Santa and special appearances by Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer throughout the fair days. There will be door prizes given out every hour, and everyone can view the hall decorated in a charming Christmas/Winter theme while enjoying holiday music.

ReproActive at the Pump House – Purchase your tickets now for ReproActive “We Will Not Stay Silent” presented by Susan Fox and Diane Breeser at the Pump House Regional Arts Center. ReproActive is an evening of monologues, poetry essays, short plays, and articles, along with a discussion with local leaders in politics and women’s healthcare. Similar to a previous production, The “Alternative Truth” Project, audiences who enjoyed the first show may also enjoy a similar evening of performances at ReproActive. The event will be on November 18th at 7:30 pm. Free admission but donations are accepted.

On The Road

Villa Bellezza Christmas Market – Experience the tradition of a European outdoor Christmas market right on the Wisconsin Great River Road! The Villa Bellezza Christmas Market is located at Villa Bellezza Winery in Pepin, Wisconsin along the Mississippi River. The winery transforms its beautiful piazza into a charming lighted market each November and December, welcoming guests to shop local artisans and vendors for everyone on their holiday gift list. The event includes the Christmas Market with vendors selling food, drinks, and seasonal items in open-air stalls around the piazza. Market goers can also visit the Tavola Calda during the event for Italian market foods including pizza by the slice, hot sandwiches, sweet pastries, and Villa Bellezza wines by the glass and bottle. Come out on Saturdays and Sundays during the holiday season from 11am to 5 pm.
