Friday 3/17

Bluff Country Tale Spinners at Pump House Regional Arts Center – Add another event to your St. Patrick’s Day with Celtic Stories and Song by the Bluff Country Tale Spinners at the Pump House Regional Arts Center. The local storytelling guild will be sharing Irish and Celtic stories on Friday, March 17 at 7:30 pm, and they will be accompanied by Dublin’s Daughters. Tickets are $15 and green attire is encouraged!

St. Patrick’s Day with The Guilty Kilts – Celebrate your St. Patrick’s Day with Pearl Street Brewery! The doors open at 3:00 pm on Friday, March 17 and the celebration will feature food, drinks, and live music. Enjoy food (including Corned Beef and Cabbage while it lasts) starting at 5:00 pm, and music by The Guilty Kilts starting at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $11 online or $10 for purchase in the Tasting Room.

Amadans St. Paddy’s Day Party – Put even more Irish into your St. Paddy’s Day celebration with an epic night of music at the Bodega Pub with Amadans. The music ranges from rocked up versions of traditional Irish music to rousing pub rock, with influences by the Pogues, Gaelic Storm, the Dubliners, Wolfetones and more. The show started at 7:00 pm on Friday night.

Saturday 3/18

Local Music at The Warehouse – Support local musicians at The Warehouse this Saturday night. The night will feature 90s-inspired alt-rock with Getting Over, progressive rock with Sensory Bliss, punk rock by Irish Goodbyes, and music by A Long Way Back. The cover charge is $10 at the door, and the doors open at 6:30 pm.

Romeo & Juliet and Rising Stars – Come enjoy the symphony this weekend with Romeo and Juliet and Rising Stars at the Viterbo Fine Arts Center. There will be three concerto movements with piano and instrumental finalists and student competitors from the region. The show starts at 7:30 pm on Saturday evening, and tickets are available for purchase now online.

Jessica Luedke Ceramics & Ocooch Mountain Pop-Up – Stop by Larson’s General on Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm for another great pop-up shop event featuring Jessica Luedke Ceramics and the Ocooch Mountain Echo, a magazine based on the Driftless Region by Ocooch Mountain. There will be some beautiful works of pottery to check out, as well as the newest issue of the Ocooch Mountain Echo which focuses on culture, mystery, and adventure in the Driftless Region.

Sunday 3/19

Trevor and Friends Organ Recital at Cappella Performing Arts – Spend your Sunday afternoon at the Cappella Performing Arts Center for the Trevor and Friends Organ Recital at 4:00 pm. The event is in celebration of the history of the Cappella building and will feature performances by the Great River Ringers, a five-octave handbell choir, Mike James and Maria Higgins, Allan Beatty on Harp, and Matt Curits. The event is free, but donations will be collected for the Organ Refurbishment Fund.

The La Crosse Gurls Drag Queen Happy Hour – Join the La Crosse Gurls for another epic round of Drag Gurls Brunch at Java Vino this Sunday at 10:00 am or 1:00 pm. The doors open an hour before showtime, and the brunches run for an hour and a half. Purchase your tickets online for $10 or in person at the door for $15. All ages are welcome.

Coming Up

Becky Shaw by Grey Area Productions – An original play by Gina Gionfriddo, come and see Becky Shaw presented by Grey Area Productions. Becky Shaw is a comedic tale about ambition and truth, as audiences follow five dysfunctional characters and their witty convictions about love. Performances will take place at the Pump House Regional Arts Center on March 24, 25, 30, 31 and April 1 at 7:30 pm, and on March 26 and April 2 at 2:00 pm. There is a preview performance with free admission on March 23 at 7:30 pm.

Knee High July at the Alpine Inn – Head to Alpine Inn on Friday, March 24 to see the band Knee High July return to play another epic show, this time joined by singer-songwriter Bryce Thomaschefsky. The show starts at 8:00 pm and there will be a raffle for a couple tickets for the following nights Dig Deep show, too. Be ready for a night of great music, good food and drinks, and friends. 

Dig Deep LIVE @ Alpine! – Purchase your tickets now to see Dig Deep live at Alpine Inn on Saturday night, March 25! Starting at 8:00 pm, the live show is sure to be entertaining with a combination of traditional bluegrass and country music and rock and roll. Dig Deep is a unique and powerful force in the roots world, and has played punk/metal scenes, local bars and roadhouses, and regional festivals.

The Diary of Anne Frank Presented by the La Crosse Community Theatre – Running March 24th through April 2nd, the La Crosse Community Theatre will be presenting their rendition of The Diary of Anne Frank. The undeniably moving show brings historical figure Anne Frank to life as a living, lyrical, intensely gifted young girl confronting uncertainty, changes, and the increasing horror of her time. Tickets are available for purchase now.

The Kid Presented by Cappella Performing Arts Center – Purchase tickets to see The Kid (1917 Silent Film) at the Cappella Performing Arts Center accompanied by the Mighty Moller Organ. The showing starts at 7:00 pm and runs until 9:00 pm on Friday, March 31. Charlie Chaplin, Edna Purviance, and Jackie Coogan star in this 1921 production.
