Pieta Brown & David Huckfelt LIVE at the Pump House – Get your tickets now for Pieta Brown and David Huckfelt who will be performing at the Pump House Regional Arts Center on October 6th. Pieta Brown is an internationally known singer and songwriter who first came into the spotlight after her self-titled debut album in 2002. David Huckfelt is a singer/lyricist/activist, as well as the founding frontman of the indie-folk band, The Pines, who are based out of Minneapolis. He will be presenting his new solo work on the albums Stranger Angels and Room Enough, Time Enough. It is sure to be a lovely night of music and entertainment at the Pump House.

Current Pump House Regional Arts Center Exhibition – Join the Pump House Regional Arts Center in supporting their currently featured exhibition, which will be on display from September 14 – November 5, 2022. The exhibition features the works of Jane Michalski in Enduring Earth, and the unique group project Drawn Together by a large group of artists, including Jeanne Arenz, Lynne Burgess, Lynnae Burns, Julie Chamberlain, Margaret Ewert, Lori Ehlke, Joan Gunderson, Lynn Hobart, Chris Johnson, Pam Knutson, Pat Gund, Jill Rippe, Ann Schedivy-Tollefson, Marti Schwem, Colleen Shore, Laura Siitari, Marianne Stanke and Marcia Thompson.
First Friday Downtown Art Walk – Held at various locations in downtown La Crosse on the first Friday of every month, come down for this month’s First Friday Downtown Art Walk! Artists, exhibitions, and new collections can be found at River City Gallery, Pump House Regional Art Center, by James Galleries, Larson’s General, Grounded Patio Café, The Root Note, Turtle Stack Brewery, and Vision of Light Stained Glass from 4pm to 7pm. You can spend the evening visiting the art galleries and stops, enjoying music and live demonstrations, and refreshments to kick off your Friday night. Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – Presented from October 7th to October 23rd, come down and see the La Crosse Community Theatre’s rendition of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: The New Musical based on the 1964 novel by Roald Dahl. Opening night is Friday, October 7th at 7:30pm at the Lyche Theatre. This performance is perfect for families and kids of all ages, but it will be a treat for anyone who goes to see it. Featuring an original score, the musical will be new to all, even those who have watched the movies based on the same novel. But you may recognize some songs from the 1971 movie like “Candy Man,” “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket,” and “Pure Imagination.”

Alpine Inn Fall Rock Fest! – Alpine Inn invites everyone 21+ to get their duff up the bluff for their final music festival of the year on Saturday, October 8th! Starting at 2pm and rocking until late evening, you can come to see Jen Wilder, Overplayed, and the Greedy Volunteers. The outdoor bar will be serving drinks, there will be lawn games, and there will be a free shuttle running to Bennett O’Riley’s every hour starting at 2 pm. Come out for a fun evening of great music, company, and entertainment.
Scary Stories on a Spooky Night – Start your October off with a night of scary stories and a good fright! Join the Bluff Country Tale Spinners at the Pump House Regional Arts Center at 7:30pm on Saturday night for an evening of scary stories. The local storytelling guild will tell some new and some old favorite stories to get you in the mood for Halloween and spooky season.

Andy Hughes Live at Tucker & Becky’s Pumpkin Patch – Take a road trip out to Cashton this weekend to Tucker & Becky’s Pumpkin Patch! Catch Andy Hughes playing live music presented by Broken Wrist Records, and explore all the pumpkin patch has to offer. Andy Hughes, co-creator of Broken Wrist Records, is an award-winning and chart-topping singer-songwriter who has been a staple of the Midwest alternative music scene for more than 20 years. Buy a pumpkin or a mum, enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee, and experience a great live performance on a nice fall evening!

Sandbar Storytelling Festival – Start looking forward to the Sandbar Storytelling Festival, a three day storytelling event held in Winona, Minnesota in October. The festival will bring exciting storytelling performances and chronicles, food, and workshops to Winona from October 14th to 15th. The performances will celebrate and preserve varied cultural traditions and human experiences, while promoting the art of storytelling for all ages.
Phantom Of The Opera (1925 Silent Film) Featuring: The Mighty Moller Organ – Presented by the Cappella Performing Arts Center, come and see the Phantom Of The Opera, the 1925 silent horror film on October 31st at 7:00pm. The film will be accompanied by the Mighty Moller Cappella organ played by Peter Krasinski. A film adaptation of Gaston Leroux’s 1910 novel Le Fantôme de l’Opéra, The Phantom Opera stars the Phantom played by Lou Chaney who haunts the Paris Opera House in an attempt to make the woman he loves a star.The La Crosse Chamber Chorale Presents Come to the Woods – Join the La Crosse Chamber Chorale for their fall performance of their 2022-2023 season, Awake My Soul. The fall performance is called Come to the Woods and will feature both old and new music that reflects the beauty and serenity of nature. The La Crosse Chamber Chorale is a volunteer, community-based choir that was founded in 1986, and the choir singers, staff and board of directors are committed to bringing professional and creative programming to the region. The fall performance will have two performance dates, Saturday, November 5th at 7:30 pm and Sunday, November 6th at 3:00 pm.
