Celebrate Spring All April Long– Celebrate the arrival of Spring all April in La Crosse with our roundup of events, or by checking out local events like spring markets, performances, and specials. This weekend check out the Mid West Music Festival in Winona, MN, or the Spring Market in the Valley.

All Weekend

Mid West Music Festival – Take a short drive across the Mississippi River to the Mid West Music Fest this Friday and Saturday for a special Driftless region festival that has been featuring regional artists for over 13 years. The festival promotes music and art of all genres and mediums, and supports the connection of the community to our local music and art scenes throughout the area. This year’s line up includes Poliça, Bad Bad Hats, Durry, and many more! Check out the first festival in Winona this weekend, and then come out for the second one in September in La Crosse, WI. Get your tickets for both dates now and get ready for two weekends of entertainment, music, and the arts!

Next to Normal – Winner of three Tony Awards, including Best Musical Score and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize, see a talented La Crosse Community Theatre cast present its rendition of Next to Normal. Peer into the lives of the Goodmans, a seemingly typical American family with more going on than meets the eye. The show focuses on mental health and presents an unflinching and moving look at a suburban American family struggling with the effects of mental illness.

The Bloody Mary Festival – Midwest Championship – Come down to the La Crosse Center to try some of the best and craftiest Bloody Marys from around the Midwest at the Midwest Championship Bloody Mary Festival. Tickets include unlimited Bloody Marys, food and beverages from local companies, a vote for the People’s Choice Award, photo ops, and more. This event is 21+.
Spring Market in the Valley! – Hit one more spring market before summer and find the perfect gift for mom for Mothers Day! The Coon Valley Dairy Supply is putting on their Spring Market in the Valley from 8am to 2pm just outside of La Crosse. This event features over 15 local businesses including 608 Signs & Designs, LAmacavorson Hand Crafted Jewelry, Green Space Thrift, and more! After shopping, head to The Stockyard Grill and Saloon in downtown Coon Valley and show them your receipt from any vendor for 30% your food purchase.

Pump House Regional Arts Center Film Society – The Pump House Regional Art Center’s Film Society is back in person for the 2021-2022 season. Featuring monthly screenings in the Pump House newly renovated theater, film society members get access to 9 films over the course of 9 months, and a light meal after each show. Sign up to be a film society member for access to each show, or buy a one time guest pass ticket at the door. The first in person show is May 1st at 5pm.
Rock Bottom String Band – Check out the Rock Bottom String Band at the Popcorn Tavern in downtown La Crosse! Originally from San Marcos, Texas, this 5 piece family group plays original music inspired by bluegrass, punk, country, roots, and rock while performing an engaging and immersive show for every audience. The band is also an internationally touring presence in the alternative americana scene. Tickets are $8.00 presale or $10.00 at the door, and the show starts at 7pm.

Coming Up

Artspire – La Crosse’s largest, free arts celebration in Downtown La Crosse, Artspire is back again this summer with a full weekend of visual arts, performing arts, dance, theater, literary arts and storytelling, interactive arts, and demonstration arts. Presented and funded by the Pump House Regional Arts Center, Artspire is a free community event that fosters meaningful arts experiences within our diverse community. Situated in La Crosse’s Arts District near the Pump House Regional Arts Center, the celebration runs June 10-11, 2022.
Saturday Brewery Tours – Enjoy Saturday Brewery Tours with Pearl Street Brewery the first Saturday of the month! Tour the brewery, get a PSB pint glass souvenir, one free fill, and a BOGO voucher for participating bars & restaurants. Tours run from 2:30pm to 4:30pm and cost $10.00 in person, but you can reserve your spot online for $11.00.
