On The Road

Midwest Land Art Biennial – If you’re up for some weekend road trips this summer you may be interested in checking out 4Ground’s Midwest Land Art Biennial, an inaugural contemporary art festival taking place June-August 2022. The festival runs all summer long and includes a full calendar of events, public programs, and suggested road trips that highlight, draw on, and raise awareness for the 10,000+ year tradition of Native land art created in the Upper Midwest. The first official launch event for 4Ground takes place at Franconia Sculpture Park on June 4, 2022.

Leo & Leona’s Presents Paul Nelson – This Friday night Leo and Leona’s presents Paul Nelson, a Grammy-winning guitarist who has shared stages and recorded alongside the likes of Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Slash, Ben Harper, Joe Bonamassa and many more. Nelson, who has also made appearances on Late Night with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel, is a blues hall of fame artist known for his amazing tone and playing style. Being a popular modern blues guitar trendsetter, Nelson’s live show is bound to be an unforgettable and exciting night. The doors open at 6pm and the cover charge is $20.

Saturday 

Hillbilly Rocketship with Corey Wise at The Main – Stop into The Main in Downtown La Crosse on Saturday for an entertaining night of country and rock music. Have a chance to see The Hillbilly Rocketship, Scooter McCarty’s newest project, perform for the first time live. Nashville’s Corey Wise will also be playing live country and western for all in attendance. The doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm.

Broken Wrist Records Spring Fling – Take a scenic drive down the Wisconsin Great River Road to Trempealeau for the Spring Fling concert event presented by Broken Wrist Records at the Trempealeau Hotel, Restaurant and Saloon on the banks of the Mississippi River. Enjoy live performances by Ethan Keller, The Lake Effect, Payton Eilers Music, and Anima while taking in a great view of the river and the friendly community. Make an evening out of it and enjoy dinner at the restaurant, made from scratch and with local and sustainably sourced ingredients. The event goes from 4 to 8pm and there will also be merchandise from all artists available for sale.

Riverdance 25th Anniversary Show – Enjoy an evening of performing arts at the La Crosse Center this Sunday with Riverdance! Putting on their powerful and stirring rendition of this world renowned show, Riverdance is bringing thrilling energy and passion for their 25th Anniversary Show. This Irish and international dance is celebrated for its Grammy Award-winning score and is performed all around the world. With two Acts, 17 scenes, and one grand finale, the performance tells a variety of stories rooted in Irish and international heritage and a connection to the earth and nature. Buy your tickets now!

Coming Up

Artspire – La Crosse’s largest, free arts celebration in Downtown La Crosse, Artspire is back again this summer with a full weekend of visual arts, performing arts, dance, theater, literary arts and storytelling, interactive arts, and demonstration arts. Presented and funded by the Pump House Regional Arts Center, Artspire is a free community event that fosters meaningful arts experiences within our diverse community. Situated in La Crosse’s Arts District near the Pump House Regional Arts Center, the celebration runs June 10-11, 2022.

Great River Shakespeare Festival – Running from June 18th to July 31st, come on down to Minnesota’s Premier Shakespeare Festival in Winona, Minnesota! The Great River Shakespeare Festival has plenty of drama and excitement in store for it’s 2022 season, including performances of The African Company Presents Richard III, The Taming of the Shrew, and Twelfth Night. Plus there are two additional events, All the Town’s a Stage: A Winona Story and Callithump! that are sure to add to the fun and entertainment. Currently, you can also enter the Great River Shakespeare Festival’s sweepstakes to win tickets to The Taming of the Shrew. The Great River Shakespeare Festival is known to be an essential part of summer in Minnesota and a fantastic theatrical festival, so make your plans to go this summer!

Saturday Brewery Tours – Enjoy Saturday Brewery Tours with Pearl Street Brewery the first Saturday of the month! Tour the brewery, get a PSB pint glass souvenir, one free fill, and a BOGO voucher for participating bars & restaurants.
