All Weekend 11/25 – 11/27

Scrooge in Rouge: An English Music Hall Christmas Carol – Celebrate the holiday season with Scrooge in Rouge: An English Music Hall Christmas Carol presented by the La Crosse Community Theatre. An offbeat, bawdy, but hilarious version of the Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol, this music hall performance is full of bad puns, double-entendres, and witty songs. Purchase tickets for performances on Friday or Saturday evening at 7:30 pm.

Friday 11/25

La Crosse Rotary Lights – Participate in a tried and true La Crosse holiday tradition, head to Rotary Lights this November and December at Riverside Park! With nearly 160,000 visitors each year, driving, walking or taking a carriage ride through Riverside Park is a popular way to celebrate the holiday season. Santa and a couple of his reindeer will be in the park every evening through December 23rd, plus there will be a Live Nativity, free s’mores at the fire pits, and an ice rink and free skate rental. Krool Fool LIVE! at Alpine Inn – Head up the bluff to Alpine Inn for classic rock/ 80’s metal band Krool Fool! The show starts at 7:00 pm, but kick off your Friday night earlier by coming up for food and drinks at the bar.

Saturday 11/26

DP’s 12 Year Anniversary Party: A Tribute to the Last Waltz w/ special guest Nicholas David – Deece Productions will be performing a tribute to the Last Waltz on November 26th at the La Crosse Center’s Riverside Ballroom. The Last Waltz Tribute will feature over 30 of the Midwest’s finest musicians celebrating one of the most memorable concerts of all time The Band’s 1976 concert, The Last Waltz, directed by the legendary Martin Scorsese. Tickets for the show are available at Deaf Ear Records, Instrument Repair of La Crosse and online at https://deeceproductions.com.

Small Business Saturday at Pearl Street Brewery – Celebrate Small Business Saturday by spending $20 dollars or more at small businesses around La Crosse County and receive a free beer from Pearl Street Brewery upon showing a valid receipt! After shopping, stop into Pearl Street Brewery from 12:00pm to 8:00pm and be rewarded for shopping locally with one free beer.

This Could Be The Day and The Rockin’ Hops at Popcorn Tavern – Live music at the Popcorn Tavern! Check out the alt rock band, This Could Be The Day and The Rockin’ Hops on Saturday night at 10:00 pm. The doors open at 9:00 pm and there is a $5 cover charge at this 21+ event.

Thursday 12/1

The Long Christmas Dinner – Grey Area Productions presents an original play by Thorton Wilder, The Long Christmas Dinner, at the Pump House Regional Arts Center on December 2-4 and 8-11. Come to the Pump House on Thursday before opening night to preview the show free of admission. Donations are appreciated and the preview show starts at 7:30 pm.

Coming Up (12/2 – 12/8)

First Friday Downtown Art Walk – Held at various locations in downtown La Crosse on the first Friday of every month, come down for this month’s First Friday Downtown Art Walk on December 2nd! Artists, exhibitions, and new collections can be found at River City Gallery, Pump House Regional Art Center, by James Galleries, Larson’s General, Grounded Patio Café, The Root Note, Turtle Stack Brewery, and Vision of Light Stained Glass from 4pm to 7pm. There will also be the First Friday Open House at Fannin Counseling & Art Therapy at 4:00 pm.

Artist Reception at the Pump House – Join the Pump House Regional Arts Center in supporting their currently featured exhibition with their Artist Reception on December 2 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The current exhibition will be on display from November 9, 2022 – January 7, 2022. The exhibition features The Infinite Effect of Time on Clouds: Never in Reruns by Mark Weller, Deep Mapping: Finding Perspective in the Landscape by Connor Johanson, and The Reaction to Natures Inspiration by Phil Murray.

UWL Theatre Department Presents A Christmas Carol – The UWL Theatre Department presents the Guthrie Theatre’s version of A Christmas Carol adapted by Barbara Field. There will be performances on December 2-3 & 8-10, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. and December 4 & 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Be sure to purchase tickets in advance for this holiday classic.

A Holly Jazzy Christmas With The La Crosse Jazz Orchestra – Prepare for A Holly Jazzy Christmas at the Cappella Performing Arts Center with the La Crosse Jazz Orchestra. The La Crosse Jazz Orchestra is Western Wisconsin’s premier big band, directed by Greg Balfany. The show starts at 7:00 pm and runs until 9:00 pm on December 3rd. Purchase your tickets soon!

On the Road (11/24 – 12/1)

Villa Bellezza Christmas Market – Experience the tradition of a European outdoor Christmas market right on the Wisconsin Great River Road in Pepin, Wisconsin! The event includes the Christmas Market with vendors selling food, drinks, and seasonal items in open-air stalls around the piazza. Hear more about Villa Bellezza Winery on the La Crosse Local Podcast, and come out on Saturdays and Sundays during the holiday season from 11am to 5 pm.

The Cactus Blossoms with special guest Joel Paterson – Stop into The Historic Temple Theatre on Saturday night at 8:00 pm to see The Cactus Blossoms, who broke out nationally in 2016 with their debut, You’re Dreaming, and toured with Kacey Musgraves and Lucius. They’ll be playing soulful, ’70s-inspired songs, along with special guest Joel Paterson, a Chicago-based roots guitarist/vocalist playing jazz, blues, country, and swing music.
