With step-by-step guidance from the instructor, we will practice the various cutting profiles on the back of the board and then carve your work of art on the front. Bring a sketch to carve or select a design from options avail in class. Kevin’s approachable style and years of experience will make it easy to learn and fun!
Participants are welcome to bring their own tools if desired, but everything for the class is provided.
The class begins with an overview of relief carving, safety in tool usage and quickly moving into direct instruction/ practice with the three gouges. When a comfort level is achieved participants can create their own design or use a variety of designs that the instructor provides. The balance of the session is carving is individual coaching from the instructor
