HorseSense Holiday Donation Match | HorseSense

December 22 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

HorseSense invites the community to make their donation go twice as far this holiday season through a special $10,000 Holiday Donation Match, running from 12/1-12/31. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of an anonymous donor, every contribution made to the nonprofit will be matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling the impact for local participants, Veterans, families, and the horses who support them.

Winter is the time when the HorseSense herd rests and the team prepares for another year of breakthroughs—and community support sets the stage for every confidence-building, life-changing moment that’s coming in 2026. “Once winter rolls in and the snow starts flying, our herd gets a little respite—but our expenses don’t,” said Ashley Adams, Director of Advancement at HorseSense. “That’s why this Holiday Donation Match means so much to us. It keeps our horses cared for, our team supported, and our plans for 2026 moving forward.”

For over 35 years, HorseSense has enriched the lives of youth, adults, and military Veterans through
equine-assisted services in the La Crosse community. Through its four main programs, adaptive riding and
unmounted horsemanship lessons, HorseSense for Heroes and its Hoof & Heart Connections program, the
organization helps participants:

● Improve physical health
● Build confidence and emotional resilience
● Learn in a positive and supportive environment
● Focus on capabilities rather than limitations

The impact is deeply personal for many riders. “HorseSense has given me unconditional acceptance and support,” shared Krystail, a HorseSense participant. “Ever since I started horseback riding, I’ve been more open-minded about what life throws my way. I don’t shut down like I used to. I don’t think I would be the person I am today without HorseSense.”

The organization is preparing to welcome even more riders in 2026, with expanded programming and new
opportunities for growth and connection. But this work is only possible through the generosity of the community.

“Your support is what keeps our mission growing strong,” Adams said. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us continue this work. Every donation is a life changed and a new memory made in 2026.”
