Be Wary made their debut performance with a unique retro-electronic-pop performance, only way I can describe it is you gotta see them live. “It’s a whole vibe.” as they say.

The warm acoustic strings of Mike Munson’s guitar is a nice comfort from the freezing cold just outside of the Root Note in downtown La Crosse. Munson will soon be heading off to an exclusive writing retreat in the driftless valleys followed by a unique performance, thanks to the support of Two Chickadees Project.

Just down the street, Justin Urness was getting ready for his solo acoustic set to kick off the latter end of Saturday night at the Popcorn Tavern. Local duo Be Wary made their debut performance with a unique retro-electronic-pop performance, only way I can describe it is you gotta see them live. “It’s a whole vibe.” as they say.

Next up was Midwest Voltage who never fails to bring exactly what they advertise, an absolutely electric performance driven by deep bass riffs and complemented with the raw eerie vocals of Amber Oliver. Pop-punk dudes Zammek, walked on the stage already at 110%, fueled by energy drinks and Hamm’s beer to wrap up a pretty rad night of live music in the city. Next time we see Zammek and Midwest Voltage on stage, I’m really hoping to catch a glimpse of the split EP they’ve been collaborating on!
