Milwaukee based trio Diet Lite drove straight from Chicago on tour to start out the show at the Popcorn Tavern Saturday night. The garage-punk/power-pop rockers have been together over  4 years and the chemistry they share on stage creates an energy that resonates to the rowdy crowd and fuels a bit of light moshing.

Diet Lite thrashers stuck for some more headbanging during pop-punk locals Zammek. Also known for their high-energy shows, the boys of Zammek jumped right into it with a mix that ranged through all 3 of their albums. “It might be Saturday but it feels like Friday, right?” Jesse Wolf joked before they jumped into the title track of their recent ep “Feels like Friday”.

Indie grunge-rockers WRST headlined the show. The band started off a bit slower with the jam intro to “Coffee” that punches you right in the side when Justins vocals come in after about two minutes. The music continued well past midnight and the dance floor was still movin by the time I headed home for the night.
