Today the majority of them (Hmong Farmers) are in their 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s….and the younger generation is not stepping up (on the decline of Hmong Farmers).
Today we chatted with Bao Xiong, Bao is the founder of “For Independent Hmong Farmers Corp.” This nonprofit is helping Hmong farmers by addressing issues that occur yearly for these independent farmers of the Midwest. Bao, also a filmmaker, shares a history of the farmers, common misconceptions by customers and what is next for her and the nonprofit.
