THE LA CROSSE LOCAL TEAM

Becky Montpetit | Owner
Becky was born and raised in Rochester, MN and considers herself a Midwest girl through and through. She is the owner of La Crosse Local and Rochester Local. She also co-owns Twin Cities Mom.
Becky has never been one to turn down the more challenging and risky options in life. A Harry Potter lover with a bad case of wanderlust, she’s always looking for the next big adventure. This has served her well while looking for new and exciting resources in the Driftless.
Becky calls NE Rochester home with her husband AJ, daughter Evie (2014), son Teddy (2015) and two Sheepadoodle sisters (Birdie and Bunnie).
Her passion lies in bringing individuals together to build better, stronger, and more inclusive communities. Â Becky is driven to connect people to community and networks and she strives for her sites to be resources to equip residents and visitors with the knowledge they need to navigate their city with confidence, ease, and a sense of adventure.
When not chasing an idea, you can find Becky hosting friends and family in their home, dreaming of the next reno project fixing up their 1960s rambler, or planning their next trip. For more snapshots of Becky’s life, follow her on Instagram.

There’s no place like home, and for this Wisconsin girl, that’s always been La Crosse. When I returned to my hometown in 2018, I fell in love with La Crosse all over again. After a few years away in the Twin Cities, I gained a fresh perspective and even deeper appreciation for all our community has to offer. There’s always something to discover here, from the natural beauty to the awesome community and fun events.
My husband Marc is originally from a small town in northern Wisconsin. He went to college at UW-La Crosse and never left! Together, we love discovering everything La Crosse offers, from trying new restaurants to supporting local organizations. We’re currently taking ballroom dance lessons and are on a quest to visit every supper club in Wisconsin! Amidst all that fun, we also managed to get married on November 11, 2023. We’re a proud multi-cat household (three, to be exact!). Some might call it crazy, we call it cozy.
My background in marketing has taught me the importance of connecting people with the things they value. I’ve been fortunate to work with several La Crosse-based companies, and I’m passionate about using those skills to create connections within our community. I look forward to helping La Crosse Local shine a light on everything that makes La Crosse the hidden gem it is.
