Barb Larsen-Anderson is a talented, incredibly active community member in LaCrosse.
Her background is vast and impressive.
Barbara retired from teaching management and marketing at UW-La Crosse in 2016; she holds a Bachelor’s degree from Viterbo University and a Master’s degree from UW-Stout.
She grew up on a farm in Trempealeau County and currently resides in Holmen with her husband and pet therapy dog Levi.
During retirement and the pandemic, Barbara renewed her love of art by painting a few hundred paintings! She now teaches painting and craft classes at area venues. She has been chosen the last 4 years to paint murals for Onalaska Art Keepers, a fundraiser and tourism project where paintings are displayed at local Onalaska businesses and then sold for charity.
Last year she won the People’s Choice Award! She helped fundraise for the new Holmen Boys & Girls Club/Holmen Area Community Center where she also teaches painting classes. Since 2017, Barb and her dogs have touched over 3,000 lives through pet therapy visits.
Barb was the 2009 Mrs. Oktoberfest, chairs the Ladies Day Luncheon, and other Oktoberfest duties.
Her hobbies include perennial gardening and traveling. She retired as an educational tour guide at a local orchard and substitute teaches part-time in the Holmen school district for at-risk students.
It will be a night of fun and artful light hearted learning.
