5th Annual Art Open House | Lowe Center for the Arts

Join us at the Truman T. Lowe Center for the Arts as the UWL Department of Art hosts the annual Art Open House on Thursday, October 22 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The annual Art Department Open House is an opportunity for both campus and community members to learn more about UWL Art with hands on experiences, offering opportunities to see student artwork, view and participate in technical demonstrations, meet current students and faculty members, and learn about the different studio areas within the Art Department.
Studios that visitors may visit as they tour include design, print media, drawing, sculpture, painting, art education, ceramics, art history, and metalsmithing. Student artwork will also be for sale at this event.
The Open House is always an exciting time for the community as the Art Department opens its doors to students, faculty, staff, families, and community members of all ages. “Anyone who is curious about art is always welcome,” remarks Professor Kate Hawkes, who teaches photography in the Art Department. In addition to exploring studio spaces, various activities are planned for the evening including temporary tattoos, hot aluminum casting in sand molds at 6pm, and more!
Free and open to the public, all in the community are invited to explore their artistic curiosities at UWL. For more information, visit uwlax.edu/vpa.
