Summer’s here and that means relaxing and refreshing and recreating on or near the WATER! Lucky for us, the La Crosse area has so many options: from beaches, to splash pads, to pools – below is your complete guide to summer swimming in the La Crosse Area.
Please note: This guide is for public swimming options. Membership-based swimming centers and organizations are not listed.

LA CROSSE
North Side Community Pool
- Location: 816 Sill Street, La Crosse
- Open Swim Hours: Monday – Thursday, 12:30 – 5 pm | Friday – Sunday, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
- Admission: Ages 3 and up, $5/person. 2 and under, Free.
- Note: The pool operates from June 7 to August 17. The pool will close at 5:00 pm on July 4th.
Erickson Pool
- Location: 2412 Losey Boulevard South, La Crosse
- Open Swim Hours: Monday – Thursday, 12:30 – 6 pm | Friday – Sunday, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
- Family Swim: Friday – Sunday, 11 am – 1 pm
- Admission: Ages 3 and up, $5/person. 2 and under, Free.
- Note: The pool operates from June 7 to August 17. The pool will close at 5:00 pm on July 4th.
Veterans Memorial Pool
- Location: 1901 Campbell Rd, La Crosse
- Open Swim Hours: Monday – Thursday, 12:30 – 6:00 pm | Friday – Sunday, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
- Admission: Ages 3 and up, $5/person. 2 and under, Free.
- Lap Swim: Monday – Thursday, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Note: The pool operates from June 7 to August 17. The pool will close at 5:00 pm on July 4th.

ONALASKA
Onalaska Aquatic Center
- Location: 250 Riders Club Rd, Onalaska
- Open Swim Hours: Monday-Friday, 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm | Wednesday, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm | Saturday 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Sunday 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm
- Admission: Daytime Open Swim: $4, Night Swim: $2
- Family Swim: Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
- Note: The pool is scheduled to open on June 7th. Floaties and life jackets are only allowed during Family Night Swim.
- Memberships are available for 2025 and can be purchased online: Family – $125, Single – $50, Senior (65+) – $25
La Crescent
La Crescent Aquatic Center
- Location: 608 S 7th St, La Crescent
- Open Swim Hours: Daily, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm | Sunday – Thursday, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
- Admission: $3 – resident, $6 – non-resident
- Note: The pool is scheduled to open on May 24th and close on August 17th.
- Memberships are available: Family – $135 ($185, non-resident), Single – $65 ($85, non-resident)
WEST SALEM
West Salem Swarthout Pool
- Location: 405 E Hamlin St, West Salem
- Open Swim Hours: Monday – Friday, 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm | Saturday – Sunday, 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm
- Admission: Wading Pool, $1 ($2 non-resident), Through 8th Grade, $2 ($3 non-resident), High School/Adult, $3 ($4 non-resident)
- Family Swim: Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
- Note: The pool is scheduled to open on June 2nd. Floaties and life jackets are only allowed during Family Night Swim.
- Memberships are available and can be purchased at the pool: Household – $65 ($100 non-resident), Single – High School/Adult – $50 ($65 non-resident), Single – Through 8th Grade – $35 ($50 non-resident)
SPARTA
Sparta Family Aquatic Center
- Location: 725 Pine St, Sparta
- June 7th – August 10th
- Open Swim Hours: Monday – Friday, 12 pm – 4 pm, 6 pm – 8 pm | Saturday – Sunday, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
- Admission: $3 – Youth and Seniors, $5 – Adults, 3 and under – Free
