Civics and Cinema Presents: Duck Soup | Rivoli Theatre & Pizzeria

For our second film in the Civics and Cinema series join Sam Scinta and Rick Kyte for a brief introduction to the classic Marx Brothers film, followed by a viewing and conversation. Advance tickets are required as seating in the Screening Room is limited, and the cost is $5; all proceeds from this showing will be donated to the La Crosse Community Foundation. Duck Soup (1933): Rufus T. Firefly is named president/dictator of bankrupt Freedonia and declares war on neighboring Sylvania over the love of wealthy Mrs. Teasdale.
“Civics and Cinema,” is a series devoted to sharing classic movies, bringing the community together, and fostering civic conversations. The program is sponsored by the Rivioli Theater, Rebuilding American Civics, and the DB Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership at Viterbo University.
