Child Abuse Prevention Month Kickoff | Family & Children’s Center

Family & Children’s Center (FCC) is raising awareness and inspiring action this April during Child Abuse Prevention Month. Blue kid yard signs may be seen at FCC’s offices, including 811 Monitor Street, La Crosse, and locations of two valued community partners, Dahl Automotive and Merchants Bank. Blue kids will also be placed at FCC locations in Viroqua, WI and Winona, MN.
Join us at 9 a.m. on March 31 as we help raise awareness about the impact of child abuse in our area.
The blue kids serve as a visible reminder of the prevalence of abuse across the United States.
According to the National Children’s Alliance, 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 13 boys are victims of child abuse.
While the blue kids are only up during April, the concern exists year-round, even in Winona. Tragically, two-thirds of abuse and neglect cases go unreported. You can change a child’s life by speaking up and referring families to one of FCC’s abuse prevention, intervention, or treatment programs.
