Community Storytelling Celebration | Onalaska Library

10:00 am: STORYTELLING WORKSHOP WITH YOUTH SERVICES
Learn more from your La Crosse County Library youth librarians about how you can incorporate storytelling into your everyday interactions with youth and the incredible difference it can make as you learn and live and grow together. Workshop includes hands-on storytelling activities and information geared for adults along with onsite crafts for youth during the program. (45 min., no registration required)
11:00 am: STORY SHARE WITH MOTHER-DAUGHTER TEAM
Katey Fortun is a speaker and disability advocate who empowers people of all ages to embrace what makes them different. Lynn Fortun is Katey’s biggest advocate and has been by her side from the start, fighting to ensure her daughter received the support she needed to thrive. Lynn offers a mother’s perspective on raising a child with a learning disability, sharing honestly about the joys, struggles, and everything in between.
Together, Katey and Lynn bring a deeply personal and powerful message about why our stories matter and how they can create connection, healing, and change. Great for all ages. Program funding provided by the Ben and Floyde Sias Library Trust Fund. (45 min., no registration required)
