Matt the Electrician is the stage name of Matt Sever, a quirky, sincere folk/pop singer songwriter based in Austin, TX. Born in San Francisco, Sever began performing in coffeehouses at the age of 15. He moved to Austin in 1996, where he balanced his burgeoning music career with work as an electrician—a job that inspired his moniker.

With 11 studio albums and two live CDs, Matt regularly tours all over the world, specifically the US, Canada, Western Europe, and Japan. His songs have been featured on Network TV shows, in feature-length movies, and in TV commercials. He regularly plays festivals, theaters, nightclubs, and house concerts, and will continue to do so until he cannot.
