DESCRIPTION:The Goose Island Grind is a canoe\, kayak\, and SUP race on the Mississippi River around Goose Island County Park that is open to the public. Hosted by ORA Trails and directed by Jud Steinback and Chris Randles the event invites paddlers of all skill levels to participate in a fun and community-oriented race that benefits ORA Trails and encourages the public to get outside and explore La Crosse County’s waterways. This event will serve as one of the featured experiences during the Paddles & Premiers weekend\, a collaborative celebration of outdoor recreation and film in partnership with Explore La Crosse and La Crosse Adventure Films\nAll abilities and non-standard paddle crafts are welcome! DESCRIPTION:1st Annual Goose Island Youth Bank Fishing Classic\nGet ready to cast a line at the 1st Annual Goose Island Youth Bank Fishing Classic on Saturday\, May 30\, 2026 at Goose Island County Park and Campground.\nWhat to expect:– Free catch-and-release fishing tournament– Open to the first 99 youth (17 & under)– Prizes for the first 99 registered fish — not based on size\, so every catch counts– Food Trucks– 1/2 Off Goosey Golf – Fishing demonstrations from Kids and Mentors Outdoors and Coulee Region Trout Unlimited– Fishing gear available for kids who don’t have their own\nWhether it’s your first fish or your hundredth\, this event is all about getting outside\, learning new skills\, and enjoying a day on the water.\nOur event partners and sponsor’s include the County of La Crosse\, Flyway Fence Company\, Auto & Toy Trader\, Edward Jones of West Salem\, Kids and Mentors Outdoors (KAMO)\, and Coulee Region Trout Unlimited.
