DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Driftless Area BioBlitz (DABB) events are FREE Community Science opportunities to learn from experts in our community. \nTogether\, we’ll engage in a field expedition learn about specific topics in nature\, each event featuring a new topic! This DABB event topic will be Precious Prairies. We will meet experts from Coulee Region Chapter of The Prairie Enthusiasts and Friends of the Blufflands at Stry Prairie in Hixon Forest Park. Please dress in protective layers\, as we’ll be walking through tall grasses and dense forest. \nAll ages and skill levels are welcome to learn\, observe\, and explore with us! We use iNaturalist to identify and upload images to a community science database\, so feel free to download the app in advance. Add your observations to iNaturalist and or to your own personal passport that we provide. Get a sticker and a button and help us add more community scientists to DABB.

DESCRIPTION:This ticketed event directly supports environmental education programming at The Nature Place \nJoin us for an immersive evening that explores the connection between people and nature through the lens of art. This curated exhibition will feature work from both local and regional artists\, encouraging us to discover new ways of noticing\, appreciating\, and engaging with the nature that surrounds us every day. \nThe event will feature a youth art showcase created by Summer Day Camp participants\, immersive guerrilla-style art installations\, hands-on creative workshops\, and opportunities to connect with artists whose work is inspired by nature. \nLight\, seasonal appetizers are included with the purchase of a ticket. Tickets are required for all guests ages 18 and older; children attend free. Proceeds from the event support environmental education programming at The Nature Place\, with a goal to cultivate and inspire a connection between people and nature\, for the benefit of both.
