DESCRIPTION:The Goose Island Grind is a canoe\, kayak\, and SUP race on the Mississippi River around Goose Island County Park that is open to the public. Hosted by ORA Trails and directed by Jud Steinback and Chris Randles the event invites paddlers of all skill levels to participate in a fun and community-oriented race that benefits ORA Trails and encourages the public to get outside and explore La Crosse County’s waterways. This event will serve as one of the featured experiences during the Paddles & Premiers weekend\, a collaborative celebration of outdoor recreation and film in partnership with Explore La Crosse and La Crosse Adventure Films\nAll abilities and non-standard paddle crafts are welcome! DESCRIPTION:ORA Trails\, BLACK\, Beer by Bike Brigade\, and Adventure Films invite the community to join us for a free winter gathering at Upper Hixon Park and the Pump Track on February 7\, 2026. \nThe Cold Weather Get Together is a family-friendly\, come-and-go community event designed to celebrate winter recreation and encourage people of all ages and experience levels to get outside. No registration is required! \nActivities will include casual hiking\, biking\, and running on the trails; a family scavenger hunt with geocache-style exploration bins; a kids pump track area; and opportunities to warm up with hot cocoa\, s’mores\, and fireside conversations. \nOther activities will also take place\, including the Cup of Love chili cook-off and a 50/50 raffle\, with proceeds benefiting BLACK. The day will wrap up with door prizes and a cozy candlelight hike at sunset. \nThe Cold Weather Get Together is all about creating a welcoming\, inclusive winter experience and connecting our community through outdoor recreation in the bluffs.
